Computerworld reported this morning (their London correspondent Carrie-Ann Skinner) that cybercriminals are expanding the types of organisations they exploit in phishing attacks. This got my attention. Well done Carrie-Ann
It appears that a record number of brands (356) were hijacked in phishing attacks during October last year – a whopping 4.4 % increase (0ver the previous highest in August) according to APWG (Anti-Phishing Working Group)

Firstly, it is months since I have made a post. Anyone would have thought I had been asleep, but appearances are deceiving. We have been really busy working with new clients (and our old – bless them), new staff, moving offices in March, and all sorts of other things – like taking a little bit of time out over the holidays.
Anyway, enough excuses

After I purchased 100% of @ web one, I decided to change banks. This decision was not taken lightly, because the ASB had looked after us pretty well in the past and their on-line banking facilities are great. Never heard from them apart from bank statements though. The main reason I changed was because National Bank Business Manager Ngaio King is a member of our BNI chapter, and I liked both what I heard from her and Ngaio herself. Read the rest of this entry »

At the recent 2009 3M Award for Innovation in Libraries, The Prow was awarded 2nd place.
The Prow website was one of three finalists in the LIANZA (Library and Information Association of New Zealand Aotearoa) 3M Award for Innovation in Libraries. The 3M Award promotes excellence and innovation in library and information services and is applied to the library team or product which shows an innovative and entrepreneurial approach to their business.
Aotearoa People’s Network Kaharoa (APNK) was awarded the 2009 3M Award, The Prow 2nd and Auckland City Libraries 3rd.
Well done to all all winners. We know how much work goes into The Prow website

We receive quite a bit of enquiry from our clients about various offers they receive relating to their website. In recent times an organisation called Linkstar in the UK, have been contacting some clients offering to pay for a text advert on their website back to one of their client sites.
All sounds very nice to receive something for little work. But is it worth it?
