Fusion – Credit is due
Posted October 22nd, 2010 by peterWe are happy to give credit when credit is due. Recently I purchased a new (for me) 4×4 so I can pursue heading country with my mates at the Nelson Four Wheel drive club. The old Pajero had been in the family for about 10 years, and although it had been a great vehicle for us, it was time for a change. We found a short wheel base Toyota Prado at one of our clients yards (good old Trade Me). Bit of a challenge really cause we have other clients in the industry, but at the end of the day, the others did not have what I was looking for at the time. We do believe in buying from clients when ever possible. To cut a long story short, the car radio in the truck was a Fusion. Now I can put a computer through its paces, but tuning car radios, video recorders and even the iron, I have a problem. So without a manual for the car radio, I was really challenged. Could not even work out how to change from am to fm – I guess you know what I mean.
Anyway, I found the Fusion website for NZ and went hunting for the manual. The truck is a 1996 and was imported around 2001, and I guess that is how old the radio is. So naturally no luck finding a manual to download. More google searches revealed no manual.
Ah, what the heck – nothing to loose, so I filled in the contact form at Fusion’s website, explaining that I had a radio without a manual, thinking may be they would put me on to a website or a business that I buy one off.
No reply for about 2 weeks (don’t you hate that) and suddenly out of the blue, I receive an email from Phil at Fusion with a .pdf of the manual attached. He explained that he had been on leave for a couple of weeks.
Well done Fusion – certainly much better than receiving the monthly email from Telecom, saying our invoice is ready for download, and the download did not work for at least 2 days. They did offer to send me a “free copy” if I rang an 0800 number – that’s novel
