It it something to get excited about?
Microsoft say "Windows® XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) includes all previously released updates for the operating system. This update also includes a small number of new functionalities, which do not significantly change customers’ experience with the operating system."

Essentially they say that all updates since Service Pack 2 was released in August 2004 are in the update and included is Network Access Protection (NAP) to help organisations that use Windows XP to take advantage of new features in the Windows Server® 2008 operating system.

We we excited? From a "just a user" point of view – No
