Web accessibility is about minimizing requirements
Posted October 16th, 2007 by peterIn a website, the more bells and whistles that are added that require plugins so your website visitors can view content, the more likely that your visitors are going to shy away and not come back.
What really is the minimum requirement to view your site? Obviously an internet connection and a web browser is the absolute minimum to view any web site. But is an high speed connection necessary to view all that fancy flash – and talking about flash, of course you need a flash reader (well we wont argue when Adobe say that 99% of internet connected computers have a flash reader) – what about near perfect vision? – or no colour blindness?
We came across this interesting article about accessibility. It does not need a university degree to understand what they are saying..
